After a few weeks in Ourense, we went to Coruña for our arrival training formacion. It was a very compact, fulfilled and joyful week with lots of different volunteers from all around Europe. Everyday we had different activities focused on being a volunteer in Europe, learning spanish language, playing social games for our improvement as a team member. The main goal was to work in a group as a one, to respect our cultural differencies, habits and personal perspectives.
During the days the mentors gave us lots of informations about European Union, insurance, European identity, European youth possibilities, spanish culture, self developing projects which we can develop on our own in the future.
About Coruña...
At first day we had a chance to go to visit seaside of this wonderful but very rainy & cold city. Its was very funny, beacuse Ruken wanted to find an typical Turkish restaurant but all the restaurants we encountred were belong to Bangladeshi or Pakistany people even tough the names of the restaurants were Istambul and Turko :D But at least, we found one restaurant, ate falafel there and spoke with a guy from Diyarbakir (Turkey) Wohoo!
In the middle of the formacion day we went to traditional restaurant where we had a dinner. They served us tortillas with vine and played us guitar music, songs, ... It was very nice to be in such a friendly enviroment.
At the last day we had a chance to visit the city more and we went to famous Hercules tower with friends we just met. It was really nice even if we knew each other for a 20 minutes they took us by a car straight to the tower. After a visit we went to ate pulpo - delicious. Even we almost missed ouver train, but the crazy ride worth it. One more time we want to say a big thanks to these guys, because without them, we would be just stucked in the centre.
Generally, we enjoyed this arrival training so much and we enriched ourselves . We are warmly looking forward to a next mid training which will be near Malaga during the summer.
Steve & Ruken :)
